Santragachi Sarbojonin Durgotsab, commonly known as Barowaritalar Pujo, is one of the oldest Barowari Pujas based in and around Shibpur - Ramrajatala area of Howrah district. This Puja is organised by Ramraja Sporting Club. A group of vigorous youths had founded this heritage Club in 1924 and incepted this renowned traditional Barowari Puja in 1927. This year Santragachi Sarbojonin Durgotsab is gearing up with greater zeal, passion and enthusiasm for the celebration of 97th Year of Durga Puja. It is a journey from a thatched canopy to a concrete Puja Mandap, from an effort of a few individuals to a melting pot of a whole extended Para. This Puja is still carrying the legacy of youthfulness and indomitable spirit. The residents of Ramrajatala and its surroundings wholeheartedly participate in this Puja every year. The devotion and dedication towards Puja rituals has made this Barowari Puja a cynosure of all eyes.
